The IPL is the most-attended cricket league in the world and in 2014 ranked sixth by average attendance among all sports leagues. The stage has been set for the IPL 2020 edition and the auction took place on Wednesday in Kolkata. Chinese mobile manufacturer Vivo is the official title sponsor of the world’s biggest T20 cricket league IPL 2020.  A total of 332 players are shortlisted for this grand auction. In this, 146 Indians, 173 foreigners, and 3 associate country players are included.

As you know, 8 teams take part in the IPL and the 13th season of IPL 2020 is going to start from 29th March. The first match of the 13th season of IPL 2020 will be held at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai while the final match will be held on 26 May 2020.

This time all the matches of IPL 2020 will start at 7.30 pm. Earlier, the IPL matches were played from 4 o'clock in the day to 12 o'clock in the night, but keeping in mind the time of the end of the match, they have been given a chance to start the match early.

IPL 2020 is going to run for 54 days this time, till now the IPL used to end in 65 days, but now its limit has been increased and the matches started in the afternoon.

Pat Cummins was the most expensive player signing of the day as Kolkata Knight Riders bought the fast bowler for Rs 15.50 crore.
Cummins is returning to the IPL after 3 years. He has taken 14 wickets in 14 matches played so far. Cummins is the most expensive foreign player in IPL history.

Glenn Maxwell was bought by Kings C Punjab for a whopping amount of Rs.10.75 crore. His base price was 2 crores but he rose in the auction and Punjab increased him with his team in the price. Maxwell did not play in the IPL last year.

2011 World Cup winner Piyush Chawla, who was a member of the Indian team, was bought by Chennai Super Kings for 6 crores 65 lacs. The leg-spinner base price released from KKR was one crore rupees.

As you may know, Mumbai Indians won the title of the 12th season of IPL 2019. The most useful money for the auction held in Kolkata is with the Mumbai Indians, the four-time IPL winning team, while the Kings XI Punjab team which did not win a single title in terms of having the most money in the purse.
